Surf Honors 2002-03 Cape Atlantic League Champions

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (June 2, 2003) - The Atlantic City Surf is proud to give recognition to the 2002-03 Cape Atlantic League championship teams. The Surf has already recognized four of the championship teams and will honor another four championship teams throughout the month of June.
The championship teams which have already been given recognition at the Sandcastle Stadium include: opening night, May 9th, when the Absegami wrestling team was honored as the New Jersey Group IV State Champions; May 24th when the St. Joseph's football team was recognized as the Parochial Group I State Champions; May 28th as the Middle Township boy's basketball team was recognized as the South Jersey Group II Champions; and June 1st when the Mainland Regional football squad was honored as the South Jersey Group III State Champions.
The future teams that will be recognized at the Sandcastle through the remainder of the season include: June 10th with the Absegami girl's basketball team (South Jersey Group IV Champions); June 11th with the Wildwood girl's basketball team (South Jersey Group I Champions); June 14th with the Sacred Heart girl's basketball team (New Jersey Parochial B State Champions); and June 27th with the Mainland Regional boy's cross country team (winners of the New Jersey Meet of Champions).
Surf general manager Mario Perrucci will present a proclamation plaque from Schoppy Trophy of Linwood to each of the championship teams on the night of their recognition. The Surf would like to thank Schoppy Trophy for their contributions and support in these successful events.
The Surf would once again like to congratulate these championship teams for their hard work and successful seasons.
