Surf Fall at Home, 7-4

ATLANTIC CITY- In an international battle the Quebec Capitales defeated the Atlantic City Surf 7-4 in front of 1024 Tuesday night at Bernie Robbins Stadium.

Pat Scalabrini led the Capitales in the first inning with a RBI double scoring Ivan Naccarata . Four other Capitales players knocked in a run during the game.

A shaky first inning by Atlantic City's Monte Mansfield gave Quebec a quick four run lead. Atlantic City answered with a run in the bottom of the first thanks to an RBI from Wil Quintana. The Surf later added three runs in the bottom of the third thanks to an RBI single from Joe Burke, and a two run double from Rob Fischer.

Brad McLaughlin pitched six innings allowing four runs on eight hits, and struck out three while walking three, but it was good enough for his second win on the season. Cristian Mendoza came in to close out the game for his fourth save of the season.

Monte Mansfield falls to 5-6 on the year, pitching six innings, allowing five runs on six hits while striking out three and walking three. Mansfield also hit two batters and threw three wild pitches.

Game two will continue bright and early Wednesday morning for Camp Day at Bernie Robbins Stadium. First pitch is 11:05 AM. Atlantic City's Brian Rodaway (10-3) is set to pitch against Quebec's Keith Dunn (8-2).
