(NASHUA, NH, August 7, 2007) Alex Frazier's two-out run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning scored Rob Gandolfo with the tie-breaking run as the Sussex Skyhawks defeated the Nashua Pride, 8-7, in front 2,141 fans at Historic Holman Stadium. Frazier's game-winning hit came off Pride closer Rich Garces (6-2) who allowed three hits and struck out three in his one inning of work.

Sussex took a 7-4 lead into the bottom of the eighth inning but the Pride rallied to tie the game with three runs on a two-run single by Richard Giannotti and a fielder's choice grounder off the bat of John Ramistella. Ramistella had a pair of RBI's on the night. Nashua native Austin Wasserman had two doubles for the Pride. Pride SS Olmo Rosario went hitless in five at bats and saw his hitting streak come to an end at 13 games.

Making his second start as a member of the Pride, Beau Hintz was the victim of shoddy Nashua fielding. In five plus innings of work he gave up six hits and six runs but only three of the runs were earned. The lefty walked three and struck out five.

Sussex starter Ryan Dittfurth went seven innings allowing nine hits and four runs (all earned), walking two and fanning six. Reliever Jamie Merchant (1-1) worked an inning and two-thirds surrendering two hits and one run was credited with the victory.

Brian Rios and Matt Ceriani each knocked in two runs for the Skyhawks.

The rubber game of the series will be played Wednesday night at 7:05 in Nashua. A pair of righthanders are scheduled with Hideki Nagasaka (6-1, 3.45) for Nashua and Trey Stephens (0-0, 4.56) for Sussex.
