Palm Beach Cardinals News Release

JUPITER, FL - Roger Dean Stadium has partnered with Bank of America and the Palm Beach County Food Bank to put on a two week long food drive culminating in Supporting Hunger Relief Night at the ballpark on Saturday, July 12. The game will start at 6:35 p.m. and feature a Florida State League matchup between the Jupiter Hammerheads and the Daytona Cubs.

Prior to the game, the food drive will be held to benefit the Palm Beach County Food Bank. Fans who make a donation of a non-perishable food item from June 30 - July 12 will receive a free ticket to the game on July 12. Items can be dropped off at the Abacoa or Chasewood Plaza Bank of America locations in Jupiter or directly at Roger Dean Stadium.

Among the non-perishable food items that are most needed are canned meat and seafood, plastic jars of peanut butter, boxes of macaroni and cheese, canned fruits and vegetables, boxes of cereal, canned soups or chili, boxed juice or shelf stable milk, and boxes of rice, beans, and pasta.

In Palm Beach County, there are more than 100 agencies that feed tens of thousands of hungry children, families and senior citizens. The Palm Beach County Food Bank provides food to agencies from Tequesta to Boca Raton and west to Belle Glade and Pahokee.

A non-profit organization, the Palm Beach County Food Bank rescues, collects and distributes food to agencies that take on the daily responsibility of feeding the hungry. With the support of Bank of America and Roger Dean Stadium, the Food Bank can make a difference in the lives of children, families and seniors in the Palm Beach County community.

"We are so grateful to both Bank of America and Roger Dean Stadium for the partnership and their support of fighting hunger in our community," said Perry Borman, Executive Director of the Palm Beach County Food Bank. "Many families struggle to put food on their tables and so every donation counts - especially during the summer months when the needs are the highest."

Gates will open at 5:30 p.m. for the 6:35 p.m. game on July 12. Tickets will be distributed at the three donation sites with the donation of non-perishable food items starting on June 30. The main office at Roger Dean Stadium will be open from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday through Friday to collect food items.
