Suns Take Series Finale in Pensacola, 4-1

PENSACOLA, Fla. - The Jacksonville Suns (29-20, 63-53) finished off their season series against the Pensacola Blue Wahoos (25-24, 50-68) with a 4-1 victory at Pensacola Bayfront Stadium, winning their second straight game in the process.

Danny Pertusati drove in all four runs for Jacksonville, including two with a two-run homer in the top half of the fourth off Blue Wahoos starter Carlos Contreras (1-2).

Meanwhile, Andrew Heaney (2-1) pitched his way to a second Double-A victory, allowing just one run on six hits in six and two thirds innings. The number three Miami Marlins prospect struck out four and walked two, surrendering his only run on Donald Lutz's solo home run in the bottom of the seventh.

Pertusati also drove in runs with a groundout and a perfectly executed safety squeeze in the top half of the ninth inning. Pertusati and first baseman Mark Canha each finished with multi-hit games, and six Suns drew at least one walk in what amounted to a patient day at the plate for Jacksonville.

Scott McGough pitched the remaining two and a third innings for the Suns after taking over for Heaney in the seventh, earning his second save of the year.

The Suns will enjoy an off day on Monday before beginning their second to last home stand of the season, a five-game series against the Birmingham Barons at Bragan Field. Right-hander Anthony DeSclafani (3-3, 3.99) is scheduled to take the ball for Jacksonville on Tuesday, opposed by Barons right-hander Scott Carroll (0-1, 9.95). First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m. ET.
