Sunday's Game Suspended Due to Weather

KODAK, Tenn. - Sunday evening's game between the Tennessee Smokies and Montgomery Biscuits has been suspended due to the weather and unplayable field conditions with the Smokies leading 1-0 in the top of the third inning. The game will resume on Monday evening starting at 5:00 p.m. with the Biscuits batting in the third. Monday's regularly scheduled game will now be a 7-inning game and begin approximately 30 minutes following the completion of the suspended game.
Fans with tickets to the Sunday evening's game can exchange them for admission to a future Smokies' regular season home game of their choice at the Smokies' ticket office. Fans can contact the Smokies front office at (865) 286-2300 for more information.
Tennessee jumped out to an early lead when Justin Bour hit a RBI-groundout to score Arismendy Alcantara from third base to give the Smokies a 1-0 lead.
Montgomery loaded the bases in the second inning, but Smokies starter Matt Loosen was able to get Robi Estrada to fly out and end the Biscuits threat in the frame.
In the top of the third inning, with ominous clouds looming, Ryan Brett led off the frame with a walk. With Robby Price at bat and a 0-1 count, the umpires called for the tarp.
Following an hour and 10-minute delay, the decision was made to suspend the game and resume on Monday evening.
Following tomorrow's doubleheader, the Smokies will continue their 10-game homestand and play five-game series on Tuesday at Smokies Park. Tickets for the rest of the series can be purchased online at www.smokiesbaseball.com or by calling (865) 286-2300.
