September 2, 2009 - South Atlantic League (SAL1)
Hagerstown Suns News Release
HAGERSTOWN, MD -- The Hagerstown Suns will return to Municipal Stadium for a 7:05 p.m. Thirsty Thursday against the Lake County Captains -- the first dose of excitement in their final series of 2009.
The Suns' farewell tour against the Captains -- an affiliate of the Cleveland Indians - will include Friday Night Fireworks, presented by COOL 95.9fm, as well as a special Labor Day Sunday Fireworks Extravaganza, courtesy of ESPN Radio 1380.
Spaten will help the Suns kick off the monumental series with an outrageous Octoberfest edition of Thirsty Thursday. Suns fans are encouraged to strap on their lederhosen and come out to Municipal Stadium, where 12 oz. domestic drafts will be selling throughout the stadium for just $1.25 apiece, just like every Thirsty Thursday, courtesy of Rock 101.5fm.
After Friday night's 7:05 p.m. game and post-game fireworks, the Suns will wear their alternate red, white, and blue jerseys for the final time in 2009 on Saturday. The final Patriotic Saturday of the season will start at 7:05 p.m., presented by Geico and WJAL TV68. The game will also feature the year's final Saturday Night Fan Broadcast, and fans can still e-mail info@hagerstownsuns.com to sign up for their last chance to appear live on the air with the radio voices of the Suns, Ryan Mock and Darin Sense.
The Suns will celebrate the Labor Day holiday with a special 7:05 p.m. evening start for Sunday, capped by their final fireworks show of the year after the game. It will be the last opportunity for Suns fans to see why Municipal Stadium's fireworks are the Tri-State area's best!
Even with Sunday's later-than-usual start, fans can still look forward to plenty of the Suns' usual family-friendly Sunday promotions. A Suns player will be reading to kids ages 1-7 on the field prior to the game as part of Suns Story Time, presented by the Washington County Arts Council. Also before the game, select Suns players will be available inside the gates to sign their photos for fans, free of charge, as part of the Suns on Sundays promotion, presented by Pictures Plus.
After Sunday's game, all kids in attendance will have their final chance of the year to head down to the field for Kids Run the Bases, presented by The Greene Turtle.
Monday will bring the last game of the Suns' 2009 season, which is set for a 2:05 p.m. afternoon start, with gates opening at 1:05 p.m. The game will not be a Feed Your Face Monday, and regular ticket pricing of just $7.00 for General Admission seats and $9.00 for VIP seats will be in effect.
