
Ratliff, Satin Promoted To St. Lucie

AUGUSTA, Ga. - All-Stars Sean Ratliff and Josh Satin have been promoted to the High-A St. Lucie Mets, the New York Mets announced on Tuesday. The two will join former Gnats Jeff Kaplan, Chris Schwinden, Josh Stinson and Stefan Welch in St. Lucie.
Ratliff, 22, was a two-time South Atlantic League Player of the Week award winner with the Gnats in 2009 and was also named to the SAL All-Star squad for the All-Star Game in Charleston, W.Va. The Longmont, Colo. native hit .265 for the Sand Gnats with a team-leading 15 home runs and 68 RBI.
The Sanford Cardinal product feasted on Sally pitching in May, posting a .321 batting average with 11 doubles, four triples, three home runs and 17 RBI. He hit six home runs in the month of July and batted .289 with 22 RBI.
Satin, 24, was the Gnats most consistent hitter all season long, finishing his tenure in Savannah with a .284 average to go along with seven home runs and 60 RBI. After hitting .302 in the first half, Satin hit .326 in July to post his best month statistically since April. He doubled 10 times, hit four home runs and drove in 17 runs for the Gnats in the month of July.
At the time of his departure, Satin was leading the league in doubles and fourth in the league in on-base percentage.
Both will be active for St. Lucie's doubleheader with Fort Meyers tonight at Tradition Field.
The Sand Gnats will finish up the 2009 campaign in Charleston with the first game of the series coming at 7:05 p.m. on Thursday from Riley Park in Charleston, S.C. RHP Kyle Allen (9-6, 3.59) will be on the hill for the Gnats.
