Hagerstown Suns News Release
On Sunday, April 24th, the Suns are unveiling their newest annual promotion: Eskimo Day. Sunday's game featuring the 1st place Suns vs. the 2nd place Delmarva Shorebirds will begin at 1:35pm with the ballpark's gates opening at 12:35pm.
Suns fans will find a number of "icy" activities throughout the day following an Eskimo theme. As fans enter the ballpark, each fan will receive a free ice cube. In addition, any fan showing a valid i.d. or drivers license from Alaska, Canada or any other province inherit to Eskimos, will be given free admission to the game.
As part of the promotion, fans will also be given free ice with their soda purchases. Plus, fans will be able to enter a contest to see how long it takes for a bucket of ice to melt.
"I guarantee a freezing good time," said Suns General Manager Kurt Landes. "In fact, I guarantee the game time temperature won't be above 50 degrees. If I'm wrong, I'll let every fan in the ballpark come back to another game for free."
The Hagerstown Suns are the single-A affiliate of the New York Mets. To purchase tickets, or for any other information, please contact the Suns offices at 301.791.6266. The Suns are owned by Los Angeles based Mandalay Baseball Properties.
