Montgomery Biscuits News Release

MONTGOMERY - Native son Craig Brazell homered for the second straight day for the Jacksonville Suns (34-20), one of three Suns homers in a 7-2 win over the host Montgomery Biscuits (30-23). With the victory, South Division-leader Jacksonville clinches a series win at second place Montgomery, taking three of the first four decisions in the five-game series.

Jacksonville starter Joel Hanrahan (5-2) struck out ten Biscuits over five innings to earn the win, with solo home runs by Elliot Johnson and Gabriel Martinez the only blemishes in his evening.

Montgomery starter Chris Flinn (1-5) suffered the loss, giving up nine hits and five runs in five innings.

Following a two-run rally in the first inning, Brazell touched off another two-run output in the third with a leadoff blast to deep right field, his seventh roundtripper of the season.

Back-to-back homers by Tydus Meadows and Anthony Raglani in the seventh off of Montgomery reliever Marcos Carvajal closed out the scoring.

Meadows was the true standout of the game, going 5-for-5 with four singles and the home run in only his second game as a member of the Suns.

The finale of the five-game series will be played at 7:05 pm Thursday, with Montgomery sending southpaw Jason Cromer (0-0, 0.00) against Jacksonville righthander Spike Lundberg (5-1, 2.30).
