June 1, 2006 - Southern League (SL1)
Chattanooga Lookouts News Release
The Lookouts get out-dueled by the Braves, again, losing tonight 3-1. Braves' starter Matt Wright held the Lookouts' bats in check through six innings. He allowed only two hits and gave up no runs on his way to the victory. His record now stands at 4-2.
The Braves got an early lead as they plated a run in the first inning. Yunel Escobar drew a two out walk and then scored from first on a base hit by Barbaro Canizares. The other two runs came in the eighth inning after Gregor Blanco reached base on an error to lead off the inning. Yunel Escobar then singled with one out and advanced Blanco to second. Canzirares then struck again with a two run double.
The Lookouts lone run came in the bottom of the eighth inning, as Rick Asadoorian came in to pinch hit and promptly hit his first home run of the season. Lookouts' starter Travis Chick suffered a tough loss (2-2) after pitching six innings, allowing four hits and one run.
The Lookouts will look to rebound tomorrow night, as they take on the Montgomery Biscuits in the first game of a five game series. Gates open at 5:30 with the first pitch scheduled for 7:15. Friday night is baseball card giveaway and then stick around after the game for a post game fireworks spectacular.
