
Suns lose heartbreaker to BayBears

Mobile, Ala. - The Jacksonville Suns led Tuesday's fifth game against the Mobile BayBears 8-1 at one point, but Mobile scored nine runs in the seventh and eighth innings combined to overtake the Suns and win game five by the score of 11-10.
The BayBears trailed 8-2 going into the seventh inning until scoring six runs off of three hits and two Jacksonville errors to tie the game 8-8. Mobile scored three more runs in the eighth inning off of five hits to take an 11-8 advantage into the ninth.
Anthony Raglani came through in the ninth inning with a two-run homerun, his second round tripper of the season to cut the Mobile lead to 11-10.
Jacksonville opened the scoring on Mobile starter Roger Deago in the first inning with three runs including Andy LaRoche's second homerun in as many games to make it 3-0.
After Matt Kemp drove in a second inning run with a bases loaded walk to make it 4-0, the BayBears got on the scoreboard in the second as Luis Cruz doubled home a run to make it 4-1.
The Suns answered with three more runs in the third on a wild pitch, an A.J. Ellis single and a Chin-Lung Hu RBI groundout to extend the lead to 7-1. A.J. Zapp belted his fourth homerun of the season in the fourth inning to extend the lead to 8-1.
The BayBears scored another run in the fifth inning on an RBI single from Vincent Sinisi to cut the Suns lead to 8-2.
The seven run lead is the largest lead dropped for a loss by the Suns this season.
Mobile's Dale Thayer picked up the win to improve to 2-1 while Adam Thomas fell to 0-1 in the loss for Jacksonville.
The Suns return to the Baseball Grounds beginning tomorrow night at 7:05 against the Mississippi Braves. Fans can enjoy half-price beer throughout the night along with Elvis Himselvis performing throughout the game. Tickets are available by calling the Suns ticket office at 904.358.2846.
