
Suns drop a pair to Delmarva

Salisbury, MD: The Suns were swept in a double-header on Thursday for the second time in three days. This time it was by Delmarva 3-2 and 6-4.
In game one the Suns grabbed a 2-0 lead after two innings with help from a Jonel Pacheco solo homer in the first, and a Jonathan Sanchez run scored which was scored with help from a Delmarva error. The Shorebirds got the lead from a three-run fourth off of Jeramy Simmons (1-4). Kyle Schmidt (3-4) threw six innings of two-run ball, one earned, for the win. The Shorebirds benefitted from RBI singles from Mark Fleisher and Ryan Finan in the three-run fourth.
In game two the Suns were no-hit until the fifth inning by Reid Hamblet (4-11), and when they scored their first run of him in the sixth they were down 6-0. The Suns added three more runs in the seventh but still lost 6-4. Zac Clements (0-4) took the loss in his fifth start, yielding all six runs in 4 1/3 innings. Zach Dillon had a three-run homer in the third and Mark Fliesher had a three-run double in the fifth for Delmarva. For the Suns it was Sean Henry going 2-3 with a solo homer. Jeff Landing pitched a scoreless sixth in his first appearance since going onto the DL 5 1/2 weeks ago.
The Suns are off the radio and internet again on Friday night due to a Pittsburgh Steelers game, but will play at 7:05pm in game three of the five game series. Waner Mateo goes against Delmarva's Chorye Spoone. The Suns next home game is a Feed Your Face Monday at 7:05pm versus Lake County.
