The Suns, (9-24, 38-62) blew another lead as they led 3-0 after two innings behind starting pitcher Jhonny Nunez. Joe Napoli's RBI triple in the 1st and a pair of RBI singles in the 2nd propelled Hagerstown to the 3-0 advantage. However, the Power chipped away with one run in innings 3, 4 and 5 against Nunez and trailed 4-3 after 5-innings. With Aaron Jackson summoned from the bullpen, Jackson allowed two runs in the 6th on a two run homer by Steve Chapman, his 2nd of the game. The Suns came right back with one in the 7th on a Mike Martinez triple who came home on a Marcos Cabral sac fly. With the score 5-5, Chris Lugo came in and after retiring the first two batters with ease, Lugo allowed three consecutive hits, highlighted on a two run single by Travis Green. The Suns went quietly in the 8th and 9th and now have lost 9 of 10.
The Suns are now are at a season low 24 games under .500 and are 2-7 against the Power.
On Thursday, the Suns will play game 2 of their four game set against the Power. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05pm from Appalachian Park.
