Hagerstown Suns News Release

Hickory, NC:After bombing four more homers in Wednesday's 7-2 win, the Suns are now on pace for 204 roundtrippers. The league mark of 173 homers in a season was set by the Macon Braves in 1998. The Suns have hit 17 homeruns in their last five games, all wins.

Jeff Landing was masterful over seven innings to get his third win of the season. Landing held Hickory (14-19) to one run on three hits, while striking out four. It was the longest outing for a Suns starter this year. Tim Worthington yielded only one run on two hits and a walk over the final two innings to preserve the win.

Mike Carp went 3-4 with a walk, 3 RBI's, 2 runs, and his league leading 11th homerun of the year. Carp, who also had a triple, finished a double away from the cycle. Corey Coles, Rafael Arroyo, and Grant Psomas all added long balls for the Suns (23-10) in the win.

Thursday at 6:30pm the Suns go for the win, sending Jose Sanchez (6-0) to the hill versus RHP Luis Valdez. The Suns come bask for US Cellular Fireworks Night against Greensboro, starting a four game homestand on Friday. For tickets call 301-791-6266.
