Sundogs Notes

December 7, 2009 - Central Hockey League (CHL) - Arizona Sundogs News Release

The Arizona Sundogs (6-12-2) recorded a 1-2-0 record in the first three games of a season-long six-game road trip last week. Arizona fell 6-0 to the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs on Tuesday, Dec. 1 and 6-1 to the Corpus Christi IceRays on Thursday, Dec. 3 before snapping a four-game losing streak with a 3-1 win over the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees on Saturday.

The Sundogs conclude the six-game trip this week with a three-in-three set against the Texas Brahmas, Amarillo Gorillas and Tulsa Oilers beginning Friday. Sunday's game with the Tulsa Oilers is the first-ever meeting between the two clubs.

Sundogs Storylines:

- Kevin Gardner leads the Sundogs in scoring with 18 points (7g/11a) in 20 games this season. Gardner also leads the team in multiple-point games this season (6) and is tied for the team lead in special teams points with seven (two power-play goals, four power-play assists and one shorthanded goal).

- After just one goal in his first 16 games, Chris Bartolone has tallied three in his last four contests. Three of the player/assistant coach's four goals this season have come on the power play, good enough for second-most on the team. Bartolone's five multiple-point games are also second-most on the team. The veteran d-man is just three games away from his 1,000th as a pro.

- Jon Landry leads all team defensemen and ranks tied-for-8th among CHL defensemen in scoring with 15 points (3g/12a). The fourth-year Sundog has collected 14 points in his last 13 games.

- Linus Fagemo has tallied seven goals in his last 10 games after being held without a goal in his first five games.

- Arizona is the second-most penalized team in the Southern Conference and third-most penalized team in the CHL with 483 penalty minutes. Arizona sits just four minutes back of Southern Conference leader the Corpus Christi IceRays. Expansion club the Missouri Mavericks lead the CHL with 529 PIM.

- Konrad Reeder leads the team with a plus-6 rating and is just one of five players on the team with a positive mark.

- The Sundogs are undefeated in regulation this season when leading after the first (4-0-0) and second (5-0-1) periods and hold a 4-2-1 record when tallying the game's first goal.
