
Sumpf Scores 2, Cats Roll to 3rd Straight Win

Rookie centreman and First Star Julius Sumpf fired two goals and added an assist, leading the Wildcats past the Charlottetown Islanders 5-2 at the Avenir Centre on Thursday night before 3,200 fans.
The win was Moncton's third consecutive, elevating the Cats season record to an impressive 16-5-1-1. Other Wildcats tallies from Riley Sampson (2nd), Vincent Collard (13th) and Natan Grenier (3rd). Sumpf's linemates - Thomas Auger and Gabe Smith - contributed two assists each. Goaltender Keegan Warren made 29 saves to record his 5th win of the season.

The homestand continues Friday night with COREY CRAWFORD NIGHT at 7pm at Avenir Centre as the Wildcats host the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies. Crawford will have his Wildcats #29 sweater officially raised to the rafters in a pre-game ceremony. Crawford played his entire QMJHL career in Moncton and went on to backstop the Chicago Blackhawks to two Stanley Cups during his 13-year NHL career.
