
Sugarland to Entertain Admirals Fans

Milwaukee, WI-Grammy nominated and national recording artist Sugarland will entertain Milwaukee Admirals fans prior to the team's 7:30 pm game with the Houston Aeros this Saturday, February 25th in the team's annual Country Music Night, presented by Miller Lite and FM106. The concert, which is at no additional charge to the hockey ticket, will start at 6:15.
For the event the Admirals are expecting their biggest crowd since joining the American Hockey League in 2001-02. The Ads high water mark in the AHL was a crowd of 12,537 on February 22, 2003 versus the Hamilton Bulldogs. As of Wednesday afternoon the team had already sold over 12,400 tickets.
"We are thrilled to have an act the caliber of Sugarland to entertain our fans on Saturday," noted Admirals President Jon Greenberg. "This is a very exciting night for our fans, as well as for our organization."
Nominated for a Grammy in the "Best New Artist Category," which includes all genres, Sugarland's debut album, Twice The Speed Of Life, has been certified Double Platinum by the R.I.A.A. The album has sold over 2,000,000 copies.
The band also performed their number one hit single "Something More" at the Grammy's on February 8th, while Sugarland singer Jennifer Nettles performed with Bon Jovi prior to last Sunday's Daytona 500. In addition, the group took home the award for Favorite New Artist at last year's American Music Awards.
The Admirals game with the Aeros also takes on significant importance on Saturday, as the Ads trail Houston by two points in the West Division standings. The two teams will also do battle on Sunday afternoon at 2 pm.
