
Sugar Land Drops Game Three 7-5 against Bridgeport

The Skeeters fell 7-6 to Bridgeport tonight in Game 3 at Constellation Field. With the loss tonight, the Skeeters are now 8-5 against the Bluefish so far this season, 50-42 overall.
Dan Meadows (5.0,4,3,3,2,5) started on the mound for Sugar Land tonight and tossed 5.0 innings allowing three runs on four hits with 5 strikeouts.
With two outs in the bottom of the third inning, center fielder Adam Godwin (2x4, R, RBI, HR) sent his first home run of the season over the left field wall for the first run of the game.
First baseman Delwyn Young (3x4, R) led off the bottom of the third inning with a double down the left field line, and was able to reach third after designated hitter Nick Stavinoha (1x5) grounded out to the second baseman. The next batter, catcher Travis Scott (0x3, R), was given a free pass to put runners on first and third for right fielder Brian Barton (1x4, 2 RBI). Barton capitalized on the scoring opportunity with a triple down the left field line that would score both Young and Scott to give the Skeeters a 3-0 lead heading into the fourth.
Second baseman Michael Rockett (1x4, R) got the bottom of the fifth rolling with a bloop single to right field. Two batters later, Ryan Langerhans (1x5, R, 2 RBI, HR) crushed his seventh home run of the season into the bullpen in right field to give Sugar Land a 5-3 advantage.
Ramon Delgado (1.0,2,1,0,0,0) entered in the sixth in relief for Meadows and pitched 1.0 inning and allowed two hit with no earned runs during his frame. Jared Wells (1.0,0,0,0,0,0) tossed a shutout seventh in relief for Corcoran before being replaced by Brian Broderick (2.0,4,3,3,0,2) in the eighth. Broderick pitched the final two innings and allowed three runs on four hits with two strikeouts and receive before receiving the loss tonight.

After receiving the loss tonight, the Skeeters look to redeem themselves tomorrow night in Game 4 against Bridgeport starting at 6:05 p.m. CT. at Constellation Field. Steve Hammond (7-6, 3.60 ERA) will start on the mound for the home team and looks to collect his eighth win of the season.
