
Subway Hall Of Fame Top Ten Finalists Announced

Pensacola, FL - The Pensacola Ice Pilots are proud to announce the "Top Ten Finalists" for the first ever Subway Hall of Fame Banner that will be displayed on Subway Alumni Night on Saturday, February 26th during the intermission of the Ice Pilots home game vs. Mississippi at 7:05 p.m. The Subway Alumni Game will also be played on Saturday, February 26th at 5:05 p.m.
The "Top Ten Subway Hall of Fame Ice Pilots Finalists" are Chad Quenneville, Glen Metropolit, Sean Gauthier, Shane Calder, Nick Stajduhar, Christian Sbrocca, Kelly Hultgren, John Tripp, Martin "Choo Choo" Chouinard and Brendan Concannon.
Fans will have the opportunity to select two out of the top ten finalists at www.icepilots.com on the Subway Hall of Fame voting page. A couple of players will be selected to have their name on the Subway ! Hall of Fame Banner on the night of February 26th. The voting will end on January 31st and an announcement of the players being inducted will be in early February.
Etienne Beaudry, Christain Sbrocca, Eon MacFarlane, Craig Brown, Shane Calder, Andrew Rodgers, Scott LaGrand, Scott Malone, Chad Quenneville, Martin "Choo Choo" Chouinard, Kelly Hultgren, and Ice Pilots owner Tim Kerr will play in the Subway Alumni Game along with members of the Senior League and Jr. Ice Pilots. Other alumni members will be added as we get closer to the game.
The following is a list of the "Top Ten Finalists" playing biographies with the Ice Pilots.
Chad Quenneville - Center 1996-1999 Played in every game for the Ice Pilots during the regular season and playoffs during the first three seasons. Played in a total of 210 regular season games scoring 93 goals, 134 assists for 227 points and picked up 127 penalty minutes also played in 31 playoff games scoring 10 goals, 14! assists for 24 points and picked up 24 penalty minutes. Was the Ice P ilots Captain the first three seasons and was a member of the Ice Pilots Southern Conference Championship team during the 1997-98 season helping the Ice Pilots reach the 1998 Kelly Cup Finals. Holds Ice Pilots all time records in goals 93, assists 134 and points 227 along with 33 power play goals.
Glen Metropolit forward 1996-1997 "Metro" played one season for the Ice Pilots during the first year 1996-1997 playing in 54 regular season games scoring 35 goals, 47 assists for 82 points and picked up 45 penalty minutes. Played in 12 playoff games helping the Ice Pilots reach the semi finals before losing to South Carolina 3 games to 2 in the series and scored 9 goals, 16 assists for 25 points picking up 28 penalty minutes in the playoffs. Currently tied with J.F. Aube on the all time playoff list with 5 power goals.
"Metro" represented the Ice Pilots during the 1997-98 season. "Metro" went on to play in the NHL with the Washington Capitals a! nd Tampa Bay Lightning after playing for the Ice Pilots.
Sean Gauthier Goalie 1996-1998 "Goats" played for the Ice Pilots during the first two seasons (1996-1998) playing in 100 regular season games posting a record of 52-38-8 with a 3.58 goals against average and .902 save percentage. "Goats" played in 31 playoff games posting a record of 20-11 with a 3.29 goals against average and .913 save percentage. "Goats" helped the Ice Pilots reach the semi finals in the playoffs the first year and win the Southern Conference Championship during the 1997-98 season. "Goats" has the Ice Pilots all time regular season wins (52) and playoff wins (20). "Goats" represented the Ice Pilots in the all star game during the 1997-98 season.
Shane Calder Forward 1996-2000 Shane played for the Ice Pilots for four plus seasons and was the last original Ice Pilot to leave the team. Shane played in a total of 270 regular season games scorin! g 71 goals, 101 assists for 172 points and picked up 764 penalty minut es. He played in 32 playoff games scoring 9 goals, 5 assists for 14 points and picked up 116 penalty minutes. Shane was a member of the 1997-98 Southern Conference Championship team scoring 'the biggest goal in Ice Pilots history to date a double overtime winning goal in Game Six of the Southern Conference Championship to help the Ice Pilots win the Southern Conference Championship and play in the Kelly Cup Finals. Shane holds Ice Pilots team records with 270 games and 764 penalty minutes and is tied with Greg Pankewicz with 14 all time game winning goals. Shane also has the Ice Pilots all time record with 32 playoff games played. 116 penalty minutes during the playoffs and is tied with 2 playoff game winning goals. Calder represented the Ice Pilots in the all star game during the 1998-99 season.
Nick Stajduhar Defense 1996-1999 "Stadj" has played in 82 regular season games scoring 20 goals, 42 assists for 61 points and picked up 134 penalty minutes and playe! d in 31 playoff games scoring 6 goals, 27 assists for 33 points and picked up 44 penalty minutes. Stajduhar was a member of the Ice Pilots 1997-98 Southern Conference Championship team leading everyone in points during the playoffs that year with 26. He currently still holds Ice Pilots all time playoff records with 27 assists, 33 points and a +12 in the plus/minus rating.
Christian Sbrocca Forward 1996-1997 1998-1999 Christian, known as the "Rock N Roller" because of his musical talent, played in 68 regular season games for the Ice Pilots scoring 26 goals, 49 assists for 75 points and picked up 207 penalty minutes. He also played in 12 playoff games during the Ice Pilots first season scoring 4 goals, 5 assists for 9 points and picked up 26 penalty minutes. Sbrocca is tied with Greg Pankewicz and John Tripp on the all time list with 6 shorthanded goals. He played in 3 games for the Ice Pilots during the 98-99 season scoring one goal, four assists for five poin! ts while promoting his first CD "My Script."
Kelly Hultgre n Defenseman 1996-1999 Kelly played in a total of 85 regular season games for the Ice Pilots scoring 25 goals, 49 assists for 74 points and picked up 53 penalty minutes. He played in 10 playoff games for the Ice Pilots during the first season scoring the game winning series goal in the Ice Pilots first ever playoff series vs. Tallahassee in overtime. Kelly represented the Ice Pilots during the all-star game during the 1997-998 season.
Martin "Choo Choo" Chouinard Forward- 1997-1998 "Choo Choo" played in a total of 25 regular season games scoring 7 goals, 18 assists for 25 points and picked up 36 penalty minutes and played in 19 playoff games scoring 3 goals, 8 assists for 11 points and picked up 16 penalty minutes. "Choo Choo" was a member of the Ice Pilots Southern Conference Championship team and was a fan favorite with his hustle on the ice.
John Tripp Right Wing 2000-2002 'Tripper" played in a total of 85 regular season games ! for the Ice Pilots scoring 44 goals, 41 assists for 85 points and picked up 224 penalty minutes. "Tripper" is currently tied with Christian Sbrocca and Greg Pankewicz for 6 all time shorthanded goals. Tripp lead the Ice Pilots with 6 game winning goals during the 2000-2001 season and lead the Ice Pilots with 5 shorthanded goals during the 2001-2002 season. 'Tripper" went on the play in the NHL signing contracts with the New York Rangers and Los Angeles Kings after playing for the Ice Pilots.
Brendan Concannon Forward 1997-1999 Brendon has played in a total of 159 regular season games for the Ice Pilots scoring 59 goals, 81 assists for 140 points and picked up 81 penalty minutes. He played in 31 playoff games scoring 10 goals, 22 assists for 32 points and picked up 11 penalty minutes. Brendon was a member of the Ice Pilots Southern Conference Championship team and scored a dramatic game winning overtime goal in Game Three of the Kelly Cup Finals to give t! he Ice Pilots 1-0 win vs. Hampton Roads as the Ice Pilots went on top in the series two games to one. Concannon holds the Ice Pilots all time record for most shootout attempts with 26. Concannon was the top goal scorer for the Ice Pilots with 40 goals and lead the team with 83 points during the 1997-98 regular season.
The Ice Pilots next home game is Friday, January 28th vs. Augusta at 7:05 p.m. It is Mardi Gras Night. The Ice Pilots will be wearing special Mardi Gras Jerseys with an auction to follow after the game. A Mardi Gras Parade will take place during the intermission.
