San Diego Gulls News Release
SAN DIEGO â The San Diego Gulls would like to remind their fans about their special boxer shorts giveaway for Saturday's game against the Louisiana IceGators, making their first-ever visit to the Sports Arena.
The first 6,000 fans in attendance will receive their very-own pair of Gulls insignia boxer shorts, courtesy of Coast-to-Coast Tax Service. Saturday's game begins at 7:05 p.m. and doors open at 6 p.m. Fans are encouraged to get here early.
Their will also be a special auction on the Gulls' website (www.sandiegogulls.com), featuring player-autographed boxer shorts. The auction will begin Saturday and conclude Friday at 4 p.m. (PST). All proceeds will benefit the Asia Tsunami victims. All players on the Gulls' roster will sign a pair of boxer shorts. You can place your bid by e-mailing Greg Olmen at golmen@sandiegogulls.com.
So far San Diego has raised about $1,300 for the Tsunami victims and has announced that relief efforts will continue Saturday.
A portion from every terrace ticket purchased Saturday will be donated to the Tsunami relief fund. The Gulls will also donate half of the proceeds from their "Chuck-a-Puck" sales, which take place on the North Concourse up until the second intermission.
In addition, collection bins will be passed around the stands, starting in the first period. Another collection bin will also be stationed at the Gulls Information Booth, located on the North Concourse.
The Blue and Orange helped raise about $1,300, thanks to fans' donations on Jan. 5 and Jan. 8. All fans that donated $5 to those games received a free terrace ticket. Anyone who donated at least an extra $10 was able to participate in a post-game team autograph session after the Jan. 8 game as well.
The Gulls will play in Las Vegas Thursday at 7:05 p.m. and then in Long Beach Friday at 7:30 p.m. before coming home to face the IceGators Saturday. It will be a 7:05 p.m. start and the first 6,000 fans in attendance will receive a special pair of Gulls boxer shorts, courtesy of Coast-to-Coast Tax Service.
All games can be heard live on KLSD 1360AM and www.sandiegogulls.com with Chris Ello calling the play-by-play. All home games and many road games can be viewed on the Gulls' web site, courtesy of B2 Networks. Click the B2 Networks link on the home page for a list of the upcoming telecasted games.
