OTTAWA -- Sam Studnicka scored with just over two minutes remaining to give the Ottawa 67's a 4-3 exhibition victory over the Gatineau Olympiques Saturday night at the Steve Yzerman Arena.

Studnicka took a long lead pass from Jonathan Duchesne and powered a wrister past Gatineau goalie Anthony Brodeur to seal the win in this spirited inter-league contest between teams from the Ontario Hockey League and the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.

The Studnicka goal capped a sequence of frenetic action that began in the 67's zone when the Olympiques appeared to have a sure goal stolen by Ottawa goalie Liam Herbst who made a save to preserve the lead.

A few moments later, Duchesne found Studnicka down ice and delivered a crisp pass that eventually resulted in the winning marker.

Rookies Ben Fanjoy, Nathan Todd and Russian import Artur Tyanulin also scored for the 67's.

Travis Barron, Ottawa's pick in the first round of this year's OHL Priority Selection, also had a strong game, delivering solid hits in the early minutes and setting up Fanjoy's marker that opened the scoring.

Travis Konecny did not play for the 67's, as the team management used the opportunity of the exhibition game to evaluate other players.

Alexandre Carrier, Phil Pietroniro and Alexandre Alain scored for the Olympiques who outshot the 67's 35-30.

The 67's are in exhibition action next Friday, September 12 at the Smiths Falls Memorial Community Centre against the Kingston Frontenacs. Face-off is at 7:30 p.m.
