Niagara IceDogs News Release
The Niagara IceDogs fell 5-2 to the Oshawa Generals in what was a spirited affair Saturday night in Ajax.
The game featured a couple fights and all kinds of penalties, as neither team wanted to back down.
Tobias Lindberg opened the scoring for Oshawa just a couple minutes into the game. Billy Jenkins answered for the IceDogs before Oshawa took the lead back with just a second left in the first period as Lindberg beat Blake Richard for his second of the game.
The teams exchanged goals in the second as Blake Siebenaler scored his third goal of the season. Richard made way for Dhillon halfway through the period. Josh Sterk scored shortly after for Oshawa.
Lindberg completed the hat-trick in the third and Sam Harding added another for good measure, handing the IceDogs their first loss of the preseason.
They're back at it Friday night in Beamsville against the Kitchener Rangers, before closing out the preseason on Sept. 16 against the Windsor Spitfires.
