Strong Third Period Not Enough to Sink Steelheads in Mississauga

(Peterborough, ON) - The Petes twice came within one goal of the Steelheads in the third period but couldn't find the equalizer, eventually falling 3-2 in Mississauga on Friday night.

Jack York (4) scored in the first frame, with Brady Hinz (10) and Nick Robertson (33) tallying in the third. Robertson's marker extended his goal scoring streak to seven games.

Akil Thomas had two assists, lengthening his assist streak to seven games. Declan Chisholm, who was playing in his 200th career game, and Semyon Der-Arguchintsev recorded single helpers.

Final shots were 39-33 in favour of Mississauga, with Tye Austin making 35 saves. Peterborough went 0/3 on the power play and 3/3 on the penalty kill.

The Petes wrap up the weekend with a visit to Hamilton when they face the Bulldogs on Sunday, January 26 at 1:00pm.
