The Moncton Wildcats used a four goal outburst in the 3rd period to turn a 4-2 deficit into a 6-4 win over the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles Sunday afternoon at the Moncton Coliseum. Cape Breton jumped out to an early lead in the first period, Dion scoring 3:17 in. That was all the scoring in the period as both teams struggled to create quality scoring chances. The Wildcats took a 13-11 shot advantage into the first intermission but trailed 1-0.

Ellis gave the Screaming Eagles a 2-0 lead 43 seconds into the second frame, converting on the powerplay. Pettersson got the Wildcats within one at 7:22. MacDougall scored his first of two in the period to restore Cape Breton's two goal lead at 13:36, MacAusland again got the Cats within one at 15:29 but MacDougall made it 4-2, 56 seconds later to give the Screaming Eagles a 4-2 lead after two.

The Wildcats woke up in the 3rd period and came out firing. Pettersson got them within one goal at 2:02 of the 3rd and Alex Saulnier tied the game at four 1:41 later on the powerplay. The Wildcats clearly had the momentum and pushed for a winner. They got that winner on the powerplay at 11:15 courtesy of Daniel Milan. Allain Saulnier rounded out the scoring with an empty net goal at 19:15 to ensure the Cats their 4th straight victory.

Moncton now head out on the road for their next three games. They are in Baie-Comeau Thursday, Chicoutimi next Saturday, and in Quebec to face the league leading Remparts a week from today. Wildcats next home game is Friday October 29 against the Acadie-Bathurst Titan. Game time is 7:30 at the Coliseum.
