Fort Lauderdale Strikers News Release
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - The Fort Lauderdale Strikers and Holy Cross Hospital announced today a multi-year deal for Holy Cross to provide a team doctor and athletic trainers for Strikers' practices and matches, as well as select medical equipment for the professional team's use at Lockhart Stadium.
As part of the new partnership, the hospital will become the title sponsor of the Strikers' medical facilities and training room, and will be featured on stadium signage and on the team's website, Strikers.com. Holy Cross and the Strikers also will team up on various community promotions as part of the multi-year agreement.
"We welcome Holy Cross and their outstanding medical team to the Strikers family," said Strikers Managing Director Luis Cuccatti. "Like the Strikers, Holy Cross has been a trusted name in the community for years. I am confident that they will provide great care to our players and will undoubtedly prove to be a fantastic partner."
In addition to onsite training and medical services, Strikers players will receive other treatments at Holy Cross facilities when needed, including acupuncture, massage therapy, surgery, injections, casting and bracing, ImPACT concussion testing, and diagnostic imaging, including MRIs, CAT scans and x-rays.
"Partnering with the Strikers is a natural development for Holy Cross Hospital's growing sports medicine program," said Holy Cross President and CEO Patrick Taylor, M.D. "The Strikers can expect the same excellent medical care and compassion that we provide to our patients at the hospital and at our facilities throughout the community."
The sports medicine program at the Holy Cross Orthopedic Institute offers state-of-the-art management of strains, sprains and fractures; regenerative medicine offering leading-edge medical and surgical therapies; comprehensive osteoarthritis services; and exercise capacity testing and running medicine with video-assisted recordings to help improve a runner's gait and performance.
Holy Cross' non-surgical sports medicine specialist, Fernando Manalac, MD, currently serves as the official club physician for Fort Lauderdale Select F.C., the official competitive youth soccer program for the City of Fort Lauderdale.
