Indy Eleven Announces 2016 NASL Regular Season Schedule

INDIANAPOLIS - In conjunction with the North American Soccer League, Indy Eleven has released its 32-game schedule for the 2016 NASL Season, featuring the 10-game Spring Season sprint from April to mid-June and a 22-game Fall Season calendar from July through October.

Indy Eleven's third season of NASL play starts on the road Saturday, April 2, at the Tampa Bay Rowdies. "Indiana's Team" will then open up its 16-game run at IUPUI's Michael A. Carroll Stadium with stern tests against last year's finalists in The Championship, starting on Saturday, April 9, against Ottawa Fury FC, followed by the defending NASL champion New York Cosmos on April 16.

As was the case during the team's first two seasons of action, all home games at "The Mike" are slated for 7:30 p.m. ET start times. Fourteen of Indy's 16 home contests will take place on Saturdays, while two Wednesday night affairs are slated for the summer months. All NASL regular season home games and select road games will air live on WISH-TV or its sister station, MyINDY TV-23.

The 2016 schedule will feature three new NASL squads - Miami FC and Rayo OKC, which will open in the Spring Season, and Puerto Rico FC, the Carmelo Anthony-backed franchise that will begin play in the Fall Season. Indy's first showdowns with the newcomers all come on the road, including Puerto Rico FC's Inaugural Game to open Fall Season play on Saturday, July 2. Indy will get around to hosting Rayo OKC (Aug. 13), Miami FC (Sept. 17) and Puerto Rico FC (Oct. 22) during the Fall Season, with the Puerto Rico contest serving as the home finale. Indy Eleven will close out its regular season on Oct. 29 at Rayo OKC.

The Fall Season will offer three grueling months for the "Boys in Blue," who will take to the field six times in July, August and October. The August schedule features the only three-game homestand and road swing of the 2016 campaign, grueling 11-day runs that will see the first half of the month spent at Carroll Stadium and the second half traveling across the Eastern U.S. and Canada.
