Beloit Sky Carp News Release

DAYTON, Ohio - The Beloit Sky Carp used some late clutch hitting to win their third straight game Saturday night, beating the Dayton Dragons 4-1 in 10 innings.

Josh Zamora led off the 10th inning with an RBI single to score courtesy runner Osiris Johnson with the go-ahead run. Later in the inning, Ynmanol Marinez provided some insurance. Marinez, batting with the bases loaded and two outs, came through with a two-run single to make it 4-1.

Tyler Eckburg finished the game with little problem for his first save of the season.

The Sky Carp took an early lead when Zach Zubia singled home Yiddi Cappe in the first inning. Dayton scored its only run of the game in the third inning, and the game remained in a 1-1 stalemate until the 10th.

Beloit's pitching was outstanding all evening. Starting pitcher Karson Milbrandt went five innings and allowed just one run on four hits while striking out three. Sky Carp relievers Edgar Sanchez, Kyle Crigger each through scoreless frames, while Cristian Charle (1-2) threw two scoreless frames to pick up the win.

The Sky Carp and Dragons will meet again Friday at 6:05 p.m. Beloit will return home for a six-game homestand beginning Tuesday against the Peoria Chiefs, with the first pitch scheduled for 6:35. The first 500 fans through the gates will receive a Stan Milam bobblehead.

The Beloit Sky Carp are the High-A Affiliate of the Miami Marlins and play their games at ABC Supply Stadium -- the heart of the Riverbend District.
