Straka's Strong Outing Leads Thunder Bay to Victory

Brainerd Lakes Area - John Straka's strong seven and a third inning outing kept the Lunkers off-balance as the Thunder Bay Border Cats came out with a 5-3 win Sunday afternoon at Mills field. Straka, who will represent Thunder Bay at the All-Star Game, gave up two runs, one earned and struck out four for his fourth win of the season. Brad Delatte, also making a trip to the All-Star Game, came on to finish the eighth and the ninth for his third save.
Kye Winter got the start for the Lunkers, going six innings, giving up four runs, two of them earned and striking out six. Winter falls to (3-1) as he takes the loss.
Ty Wosleger had a very good day offensively for Thunder Bay, as he went 3 for 5 with two RBIs. For the Lunkers, Steven Brault went 2 for 4 and also drove in a run.
The Border Cats and Lunkers finish off their three-game series Monday night at Mills Field. Joe Willman will get the start for the Lunkers against Logan Birr for Thunder Bay.
