Austin House (So, New Mexico) would come in to pitch the ninth inning for the second consecutive day. House shutout the Huskies in the ninth, striking out the side for his third save of the season.
Bowen's counterpart Dane Gronewald took a no-hitter into the bottom of the fifth, before the Honkers solved him. Davy Wright (So, TCU) followed up a 3-for-3 performance last night with a double in his second at-bat to break up the no hitter. Wright would eventually come around to score that inning on a hit by Brett Hambright (Jr, Oregon). Hambright would eventually come around to score on a wild pitch. Wright would finish the game 2-for-3, his second multi hit game with two runs scored. He has eight hits in 14 at-bats over the last four games.
