Seattle Storm News Release

This Week's Opponent

San Antonio: Seattle will take on San Antonio for the second time in as many games this week, a scheduling quirk that gave the Storm seven days off between meetings while the Silver Stars face Houston and Phoenix this week before the rematch. In the first meeting, an 82-71 San Antonio victory on May 25, the Storm shot just 34.8 percent from the field and committed 19 turnovers leading to 29 points for the Silver Stars. With a week of practice under their belts, the Storm will look to reclaim control of the all-time series. Seattle has won seven of the last 11 meetings to narrow San Antonio's edge to 13-11 overall.

Storm Players to Visit Pioneer Elementary

Storm players Janell Burse, Tye'sha Fluker, Katie Gearlds and Betty Lennox will host a Be Fit Clinic at 3:15 p.m. this Wednesday, May 30 at Pioneer Elementary School (2301 M Street S.E., Auburn). The event is part of the WNBA's Be Smart - Be Fit - Be Yourself program, which is designed to encourage teens and women of all ages to learn more about their bodies and the importance of physical fitness.

Storm on the All-Star Ballot

Storm players Sue Bird, Janell Burse, Lauren Jackson and Betty Lennox are among the Western Conference players on the ballot for the 2007 WNBA All-Star Game to be played on July 15 at the Verizon Center in Washington, D.C. Jackson leads the group with five All-Star appearances, followed by Bird (four) and Lennox (one), while Burse is seeking her first trip to the midseason classic. Fans can cast their All-Star ballots once each day through June 24 by logging on to WNBA.com.

Storm Participating in "Fuel the Dream" Challenge

The Seattle Storm and Seattle Sounders have partnered with Food Lifeline and Toyota of Seattle for the 2007 Summer Challenge: "Fuel the Dream." Each team will collect food and cash donations at their respective June 2 games, and the team with the most donations wins. All food and cash donations will benefit Food Lifeline, which is Washington's largest hunger relief agency. The Storm will be collecting food and funds at the Toyota Tundra on KeyArena's West Plaza this Saturday and at the Food Lifeline tables located at the East and West entrances.
