NEWS & NOTES

- The 2007 season marked the first time in the team's history that it began a campaign with the same starting lineup that it used to open up the previous year.

- With the addition of Sheri Sam, the Fever boasts three of the WNBA's all-time top 17 in steals. Sam entered the season ninth on the list with 390 thefts in her career. The reigning Defensive Player of the Year, Tamika Catchings entered 2007 seventh in league history with 417 steals in her five seasons. Tully Bevilaqua came into the current season ranked 17th with 317 steals in eight WNBA seasons.

- In 2006, the Fever ranked 10th in the WNBA with a field goal percentage of just 40.7 percent. However, in its first two games of 2007, the Fever has shot a combined 62-129 from the floor (.481), which leads the WNBA. Indiana is the only team in the WNBA shooting above 46.0 percent FG thus far.

- The Fever's 83 points in each of its first two games represents the first time the team has scored 80+ points in consecutive games since the first two games of June 2006.

- In each of its first two games, the Fever had nine players log at least 11 minutes and no player has played more than 29 minutes thus far.

- Fever point guards Tully Bevilaqua and K.B. Sharp have been outstading this season. In the first two games, the pair has totaled seven assists, two steal and just three turnovers in a total of 80 minutes. Taking the preseason into consideration Bevilaqua and Sharp have totaled 28 assists, 11 steals and just five turnovers in five games. In those five games, the duo has totaled 198 minutes, combined.

- The Fever made its presence felt in the 91st running of the Indianapolis 500 on Sunday, May 27. A Fever logo appeared on the front of both Playa Del Racing's entries in the "Greatest Spectacle in Racing." The logo appeared on the front wing of the no. 21 car driven by IndyCar veteran Jacques Lazier, while the Fever logo was on the nose of the no. 31 car driven by rookie Phil Giebler. Lazier finished 27th in the race, but was the leader at the end of lap 144. Giebler crashed on lap 106 and finished 29th.
