Storm Snap Sixers' Streak

Lake Elsinore, CA- The Lake Elsinore Storm scored early and used great starting pitching to down Inland Empire (10-22) 6-1 at the Diamond on Tuesday. The loss snapped the Sixers longest win-streak of the season at four games and dropped Inland Empire to 2-16 against the California League's Southern Division.

The Storm scored two runs in the first against IE starter Alex Klonowski (1-6) when Franmil Reyes tagged his second homer of the season with a man aboard. Lake Elsinore (14-18) would add a run in the second on Josh VanMeter's RBI single and two more in the fourth when 18-year-old 2B Luis Urias drilled a two-run triple down the left field line. The Storm capped their scoring in the seventh against IE reliever Dixon Llorens when Edwin Moreno knocked in a run with a two-bagger.

Lake Elsinore starter Dinelson Lamet (5-1) tossed six shutout innings allowing just four hits and a walk. The righty struck out seven men. Inland Empire scored an uneared run in the top of the eighth to avoid being shutout for the first time this season. Tim Arakawa and Jose Briceno each had two hit games for the Sixers. Arakawa now has a 16-game hitting streak.
