
Storm Set for Final Game of Weekend against Stars

KEARNEY, NE. - The Tri-City Storm is set for today's final game of a three-game weekend series against the Lincoln Stars. This afternoon's home game at the Viaero Center is a rescheduled game from Thursday, January 11th. Tickets purchased for the original date will be honored for today's game. Tickets may be purchased online at www.StormHockey.com, or by calling the Viaero Center Box Office at 308-338-8144. Puck drop is set for 4:35pm CT.
Tri-City (23-16-4-4) seeks a bounce-back victory against Lincoln following last night's 3-2 home loss at the Viaero Center in the organization's annual Kool-Aid Night game. The Storm fell behind by two goals in the opening five minutes of the 3rd period, but battled back to tie the contest with less than ten minutes to play. Tri-City surrendered the final goal of the game with less than six minutes to play to record a loss in the rivalry showdown. Ryan Smith and A.J. Lacroix each netted a goal for the Storm in last night's game. Tri-City outshot Lincoln by a final margin of 29-26, and dropped to 15-10-1-2 when outshooting its opponents this season. The Storm's head-to-head record against the Stars in this year's rivalry series fell to 3-2-0-2 in the loss. Tri-City has posted a 27-13-1-4 record against Lincoln over the past five seasons entering this afternoon's battle at the Viaero Center. Scoring leaders for the Storm through the opening forty-seven games of the 2023-2024 regular season include Trevor Connelly (22), Ryan Smith (21), Cam Briere (16), Owen Beckner (12), Artemi Nizameyev (12), Jake Rozzi (11), Vladislav Lukashevich (11), August Falloon (11), and A.J. Lacroix (11). The Storm will return to action next weekend with back-to-back home games at the Viaero Center against the Sioux City Musketeers on Friday, March 8th, and Saturday, March 9th.
Lincoln (21-21-2-2) improved to 6-2-2-0 in the team's last ten games in last night's 3-2 road victory over Tri-City at the Viaero Center. Blake Montgomery, Keaton Peters, and Jared Mangan each netted a goal for the Stars in the win. Yan Shostak made 27 saves on 29 shots to collect the victory in goal for Lincoln. The Stars have posted a 5-14-1-0 record at the Viaero Center in the last five seasons, and won last year's season series against the Storm with a final head-to-head record of 7-5-1-0. Lincoln leads this year's series against Tri-City with a record of 4-2-1-0 entering today's game. The Stars will host the Storm for the final game of this year's nine-game series on Saturday, March 30th at the Ice Box. Scoring leaders for Lincoln ahead of today's rivalry matchup against Tri-City include Keaton Peters (20), Blake Montgomery (18), Jared Mangan (17), Jack Pechar (14), Dashel Oliver (8), and Justin Mexico (7). The Stars will return to action next weekend with three consecutive road games against the Fargo Force at Scheels Arena.
