Also playing in the the U-17 World Hockey Championship in Dawson Creek earlier this year, Samorukov recorded two goals in six games.
"We are excited to secure the CHL rights of Dmitri", GM Mike Kelly said. "We will now go through the process of trying to secure his release from the Russian Hockey Federation respecting the time and effort that it may take to bring him to the Storm. I watched him play 6 games in both the five nations in Plymouth and the U-18 in Grand Forks. We feel he is a potential top NHL pick in the upcoming draft."
