Attack Select Sushko

Owen Sound Attack News Release

The Owen Sound Attack moved up one spot in the CHL Import Draft due to Tri-City Americans passing on their picked and used the 28th overall pick to select left winger, Maxim Sushko (soosh-ko).

Sushko, a 1999 born forward from Belarus has put up offensive numbers in a variety of leagues over the past several seasons, including 37 goals and 29 assists in 17 games for DYUSSH Shakhter U18 team in 2014/2015.

The 6'0, 179lb forward also picked up 12 goals and 28 assists in 30 games last season, split between two clubs in Belarus' second league. At the Division 1A World Under 18 Hockey Championships, Sushko finished 3rd in tournament scoring with 6 points in 5 games as an underage player. As a 16 year old, Sushko also served as the Captain of the club.

"We targeted an offensive player and we believe we got one of the best 17 year olds in the import draft.", stated Attack General Manager Dale DeGray. "Maxim competes hard, he is a leader and has tremendous success as a player competing in a higher age bracket."

Maxim Sushko and Petrus Palmu will occupy the Attack's two import spots next season.

The Attack wish to welcome Maxim to the organization.
