
Otters Select German Poddubnnyi with Import Pick

The Erie Otters selected German Poddubnnyi with the 58th overall pick in the first round of the 2016 Canadian Hockey League Import Draft.
Poddubnnyi, a 6'2", 165-pound forward, spent the 2015-16 season with the Philadelphia Jr. Flyers. The Sarov, Russia native led the Tier 1 Elite Hockey League U-16 with 25 goals and 48 points. The 17-year-old is eligible for the 2017 NHL Entry Draft.
"He's a world class player," Otters General Manager Dave Brown said of Poddubnnyi. "His skill and compete level fit our team's brand of hockey. We are lucky to be able to add a player of his caliber to our organization."
