
Storm Return to Viaero Center for Final Home Game of Regular Season

Kearney, NE. - The Tri-City Storm begins the final weekend of play in the 2020-2021 regular season in a home game tonight at the Viaero Center against the Omaha Lancers. Specialty player worn jerseys will be auctioned off following tonight's game. Proceeds will benefit McKenna's Rae of Hope Foundation. Tickets are available for tonight's and can be purchased by calling the Viaero Center Box Office at 308-338-8144 or by visiting www.StormHockey.com. Puck drop for tonight's rivalry game against Omaha is scheduled for 7:05pm.
Tri-City (30-16-3-1) returns home to the Viaero Center tonight following a 3-1 road loss to the Sioux City Musketeers on Wednesday. Matthew Knies scored Tri-City's only goal in the road loss. Knies' goal was his seventeenth of the regular season. Tri-City can clinch the 2020-2021 Western Conference Regular Season Championship by recording one point in the standings over the final two games of the regular season. The Storm can also clinch the regular season conference title if the Fargo Force drop either of its two games this weekend against the Sioux City Musketeers. Tri-City has posted a home record of 15-7-3-0 entering tonight's final home game of the regular season. The Storm have won six of seven previously played games against the Lancers in this year's season series. Scoring leaders for Tri-City entering tonight's home game include; Hunter Strand (20), Carter Mazur (20), Matthew Knies (17), Ben Schoen (15), Cole McWard (14), Rhett Pitlick (13), and Adam Klapka (12). Following tonight's home game against the Lancers, Tri-City will travel to Ralston Arena tomorrow for the final game of the 2020-2021 regular season. The Storm's next home game is Game #1 of the 2021 Western Conference Semifinals of the Clark Cup Playoffs and will be played on Friday, April 30th.
Omaha (28-20-2-1) enters this weekend's series against the Storm seeking a birth in the Clark Cup Playoffs. Omaha's last game played was a 7-3 home victory one week ago over the Lincoln Stars. Michael Posma (3), Nolan Renwick, Daimon Gardner, Zach Dubinsky, and Hunter McDonald all scored in the victory for the Lancers. Jakub Dobes recorded the win in goal for Omaha after making twenty-five saves on twenty-eight shots. The Lancers hold an 11-13-0-1 record in road games played this season. Omaha's only victory against the Storm to this point in the season was recorded on November 13th, 2020. Scoring leaders for the Lancers entering tonight's road game against the Storm include; Nolan Renwick (21), Ayrton Martino (18), Zach Dubinsky (13), Ryan Lautenbach (12), Michael Posma (12), Liam Devlin (12), and Owen Fowler (11). Omaha's power-play is ranked 3rd best in the Western Conference entering tonight's game (19.9%). The Lancers penalty kill is 2nd best in the Western Conference this season (88.5%).
The Tri-City Storm's 2021 Clark Cup Playoff Ticket package is currently available and can be purchased online via www.StormHockey.com or by calling the Viaero Center Box Office at 308-338-8144. Tri-City will host an opponent to be determined for the first two games of the 2021 Western Conference Semifinal on Friday, April 30th and Saturday, May 1st. Tri-City will also host Game #3 of the series on Sunday, May 2nd if the game is required.
