
Lancers Clinch Spot in 2021 USHL Playoffs

KEARNEY, NE - The Omaha Lancers clinched a spot in the 2021 USHL Clark Cup Playoffs after defeating the Storm 3-2 on Friday night.
In the first period, the Storm got on the board when Ben Schoen (0:59) scored to make it a 1-0 game. The Lancers answered back on the power-play when Michael Posma (7:40) netted the puck past Todd Scott for his thirteenth goal of the year. Nearing the end of the opening frame, Kienan Draper (19:27) scored to get the Lancers ahead 2-1 going into the first intermission.
In the second period, and on the penalty kill, Owen Fowler (8:54) scored on a breakaway getting the Lancers ahead 3-1. With less than two minutes remaining in the frame, Ben Schoen (18:34) scored his second of the night to make it a 3-2 score.
In the third period, the Storm went on the power-play late. The Lancers kept the Storm at bay to hold on for a 3-2 win. With tonight's win, the Lancers have clinched a spot in the 2021 Clark Cup Playoffs. More information about tickets and opponents will follow.
The Lancers return to action tomorrow to face the Storm at Ralston Arena at 6:05 PM.
