Tri-City (28-13-2-1) hits the ice tonight against Lincoln as the 1st place team in the USHL's Western Conference standings. The Storm has won six consecutive games for the first time since the 2018-2019 Anderson Cup Championship season. Last weekend, Tri-City outscored its opponents by a 14-3 margin. With the road sweep over Sioux Falls, Tri-City secured a season-series victory over the Stampede. Tri-City has clinched a season-series victory this year in head-to-head matchups against the Fargo Force, Omaha Lancers, Sioux City Musketeers, Sioux Falls Stampede, and Waterloo Black Hawks. A regulation win tonight at the Ice Box over the Stars would seal a season-series victory against the Lincoln Stars. The Storm enters tonight's game with a 4-3-0-1 record against the Stars this season. Tri-City defeated Lincoln by a final score of 4-1 at the Viaero Center on February 19th in the most recent matchup of the year between the two in-state rivals. Tomorrow's game at the Viaero Center will be the final matchup this season between the Storm and the Stars.
Lincoln (18-24-3-1) enters tonight's game as one of the hottest teams in the USHL following a 3-1 home win over the Des Moines Buccaneers on Wednesday. Following an 8-4 road loss to the Sioux Falls Stampede on March 16th, the Stars have collected points in each of the last eight games. The eight-game point streak is the longest streak for the Stars this season and the longest active point streak in the USHL. Lincoln is one point from passing Sioux Falls for 6th place in the Western Conference standings. Gleb Veremyev, Noah Laba, and Stanley Cooley scored for Lincoln in Wednesday's home victory over Des Moines. Ryan Ouellette made sixteen saves on seventeen shots to record the win in goal for Lincoln. After tonight's home game against the Storm, Lincoln travels to the Viaero Center for a Saturday night showdown against the Storm tomorrow night.
Tonight's game is set to begin at 7:05pm CT and will be streamed live on HockeyTV, and Storm Radio. For tickets to Storm home games at the Viaero Center, call 308-338-8144 or visit www.StormHockey.com #StormAhead
