Storm names captains

KEARNEY – The Tri-City Storm of the United States Hockey League announced its team captains for the 2004-05 season following Tuesday's practice at the Kearney Event Center.

Third-year defenseman Brian Kilburg and first-year Storm forward Jarod Palmer will serve as the team's captains. Three players will serve as assistant captains including forward Christian Hanson and defensemen Chris Zarb and Kyle Kuk.

Kilburg, who began playing for the Storm during the 2002-03 season, has played in each of the Storm's 12 games this year. He has three goals and two assists in those games and 33 penalty minutes. Kilburg is also one of the Storm's all-time leaders in games played, currently fourth with 128 games played.

Palmer, a 6-foot and 200-pound forward, joined the Storm this season after playing for the U.S. National Development Program in 2003-04. In 11 games, Palmer has a goal and an assist for two points. He also has 18 penalty minutes.

Hanson, Zarb and Kuk are all second-year players who played important roles in last season's Anderson Cup championship. All three have played in each game so far this season and have combined for 20 points in those games.
