Storm Name Rick Judson as Assistant Coach

(Toledo, Ohio) The Toledo Storm, ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Detroit Red Wings and Chicago Blackhawks, announced today that they have added Rick Judson as the Storm's Assistant Coach.

"Rick has a terrific hockey mind," said Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Nick Vitucci. "He had a tremendous career at this level and has a great chance of being a very successful coach not just for us, but in the future as well."

Judson is the most prolific scorer in Toledo Storm history, atop the all-time list in goals (223), assists (290), points (513), and games played (516), that's nearly a point in every game he ever played with the Storm. His professional career began and ended in Northwest Ohio, with stops in the ECHL, AHL, IHL, BISL, and UHL along the way. In addition to the Storm, Judson played with the Adirondack Red Wings, Las Vegas Thunder, Utah Grizzlies, Michigan K-Wings, Minnesota Moose, Manchester Storm, Greenville Grrrowl, Port Huron Border Cats, and Fort Wayne Comets. The 1989 Detroit Red Wings 10th round draft choice appeared in more than 800 games as a professional in his 14-year playing career.

The 16th Season of Toledo Storm Hockey debuts on October 20th at the Toledo Sports Arena when the Storm take on the archrival Dayton Bombers at 7:35.
