RoadRunners' Opening Weekend 2006 Kicks Off Friday

PHOENIX, Ariz. - The Phoenix RoadRunners of the ECHL, a proud affiliate of the Phoenix Coyotes and San Antonio Rampage, will embark on their second season since returning to downtown Phoenix at 7:11PM tomorrow as they welcome the Utah Grizzlies for Opening Night and the first game of a three-game weekend series at US Airways Center.
Beginning at 7:20 a.m. tomorrow, "Rocky" RoadRunner will join the "Tim & Willy Morning Show" on 102.5 KNIX and make several surprise appearances throughout the day at area businesses across downtown Phoenix to promote Opening Night.
The RoadRunners are also pleased to welcome the rock band "4 Turns Left" Friday who will perform live before the game and during both the first and second intermission.
In addition, the first 2,500 fans through the doors Friday will receive a RoadRunners 2006-07 Magnet Schedule.
The Casino Arizona Opening Face-Off at 7:11PM will follow pre-game entertainment and festivities featuring Rocky and the RoadRunners In-Game Entertainment Squad, the "Puck Patrol".
After the final horn Friday, join the RoadRunners at Alice Cooper'stown located behind US Airways Center on Jackson Street for a special RoadRunners Opening Night Post Game Party featuring a variety of food and drink specials.
Entering their 21st season of existence dating back to their inaugural 1967-68 campaign in the Western Hockey League, the RoadRunners hold an all-time record of 687-760-160.
Individual game tickets for the 2006-07 regular season are currently on sale and can be purchased at the US Airways Center Box Office and at all Ticketmaster outlets including Ticketmaster.com.
Opening Night 2006 at US Airways Center is this Friday as the RoadRunners welcome the Utah Grizzlies at 7:11PM for the first game of an opening weekend three-game series. Information on season tickets, half-season packages, and flex plans are available by calling (602) 462-GOAL.
