
Storm Lose In OT To Fargo, 6-5

KEARNEY, NE - The Tri-City Storm (2-1-1, 5 points) overcame a 2-0 deficit early in the first period to capture a brief lead in the second period of 4-3. However, the Fargo Force (2-2-0, 4 points) was able to erase the difference in the third period and prevailed to win in overtime 6-5.
The Force was led by Matt Leitner, who scored his first of two goals to start the 11 goal affair between the two clubs in the Viaero Event Center on Friday night.
Storm got on the board down by two goals, thanks to Jaden Schwartz scoring on the power play at the 12:03 mark in the first period. The Storm's Radoslav Illo, who scored two goals and had an assist, would tie the game at 2-2 on the second Storm power play goal in the period.
However, the tie game was brief as the Force's Leitner grabbed the lead again with four minutes left in the opening period.
Tri-City scored two goals in the second period to take a 4-3 lead into the final period. Anthony DeCenzo would score his third of the season, while Illo scored his second of the game to give the Storm the lead. DeCenzo's goal was his 50th point in his three seasons in the USHL.
The Force would score back-to-back goals to start the third period to lead 5-4, as Nate Condon and Chad Demers scored goals in a span of one minute and 19 seconds apart.
Nate Jensen scored for the Storm at the 11:04 mark of the third period to tie things up at 5-5. Jensen scored his first-ever career USHL goal in his second season in the league.
Tri-City goalie Carsen Chubak received the loss making 23 saves on 29 shots, while Fargo's Cody Campbell earned the win making nine saves on 10 shots. Campbell came in relieve for Keegan Asmundson, as Asmundson made 14 saves on 18 shots.
The Storm on the power play was 3-9, while the Force was 2-6 with the man-advantage. The Force has the top power play in the league.
The Storm will face the Lincoln Stars on Tuesday, October 20 in the Viaero Event Center. The Stars will play Tri-City seven times this season.
