INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Ryan Haggerty (Stamford, Conn.) netted the lone goal and Matt McNeely (Burnsville, Minn.) made 31 saves for the U.S. National Under-17 Team as it came up short against the Indiana Ice, 4-1, here tonight at Pepsi Coliseum.

Just 2:00 into the opening period, Chris Martin's shot beat McNeely to give Indiana a 1-0 lead. Nic Dowd tallied an unassisted marker at 9:42 to double the Ice's advantage. At 13:18, Bryon Paulazzo made it 3-0 after converting on a feed from Dowd.

After Anthony Bitetto put the Ice ahead, 4-0, at 6:20 of the second period, Jake McCabe (Eau Claire, Wis.) sent a stretch pass to Haggerty who broke in all alone, deked to his backhand and slipped the puck past Cab Morris at 14:45 to put Team USA on the board.

McNeely stopped all 10 shots he saw in the final frame, but Morris denied all eight of Team USA's chances to allow the Ice to skate away with the 4-1 victory.

The U.S. National Under-17 Team returns to action Friday (Oct. 23) when it travels to the Tyson Events Center to take on the Sioux City Musketeers at 7:00 p.m. EDT.
