WNBA Seattle Storm

Storm Host "Read To Achieve" & "Be Fit" Programs Thursday

WHAT: The Seattle Storm will host two separate community relations initiatives on Thursday.

The WNBA's Read To Achieve is a community program supported by WNBA Cares. WNBA Cares is the league's global community outreach initiative that addresses important social issues with an emphasis on programs that support education, youth and family development and health-related causes. Approximately 100 kids are expected at Thursday's final Storm Reading Time Out of the Season, which is sponsored locally by Starbucks Coffee Company.

Also on Thursday, the Storm will host a WNBA Be Smart - Be Fit - Be Yourself program, which is designed to encourage teens and women of all ages to learn more about their bodies and the importance of physical fitness. Approximately 50 kids are expected to participate in the clinic. The Storm's Be Fit Clinics are sponsored by the Seattle Children's Hospital, Washington State Nurses Association and the Washington Health Foundation.
