Upcoming Road Games

In order to promote our upcoming televised road games the Monarchs are wearing their road uniforms for tonight's game. Have You Seen Us...On the Road? Tune in Tuesday, July 31, at 7 pm on ESPN2, Friday, August 10 at 5:30 pm on News10, Sunday, August 19 at 4 pm on News10

National Exposure

The Monarchs are currently 22-31 (14-12 Home, 8-19 Road) all-time in the regular season for nationally televised games. On ESPN2 they are 8-11 (6-3 Home, 2-8 Road). Against Los Angeles on national television, the Monarchs are 4-7 (4-3 Home, 0-4 Road). Including tonight's game on ESPN2, the Monarchs will play in five nationally televised games during the 2007 season.

WNBA Tuesdays

Tonight's game is one of 16 games televised on "WNBA Tuesday's" on ESPN2 during the 2007 season. The Monarchs will also be a part of "WNBA Tuesday's" on July 31 versus the Seattle Storm.

2007 Special Events at Monarchs Games During the 2007 season, the Monarchs will be hosting special events during designated home games throughout the season. Designated games will have unique events for fans to participate in. The special events at Monarchs games are scheduled for:

- July 26 vs. Indiana: Camp Day: Come celebrate Monty's Birthday with a special 11:30 matinee game!

- August 3 vs. Seattle: Moms and Kids Night

- August 17 vs. Phoenix: MONTYS Fan Appreciation Night

Monarchs/Sparks Connections

Monarchs guard Ticha Penicheiro and Sparks center Lisa Leslie both played for Spartak in Moscow, Russia during the 2005-2006 off-season.

Monarchs guard Kara Lawson is a 2003 graduate of Tennessee, while four years later Sparks rookie Sidney Spencer graduated in 2007.

Sparks Center Lisa Leslie graduated from USC in 1994, while Monarchs forward/center Adrian Williams graduated in 1999.

Monarchs guard Ticha Penicheiro joined Sparks players Lisa Leslie and Mwadi Mabika in the 2002 All-Star Game for the Western Conference.

Monarchs forward Yolanda Griffith and Sparks center Lisa Leslie were teammates on the gold medal-winning USA Basketball teams in the 2000 and 2004 Olympic Games. In addition, Griffith and Leslie, were gold medalists in the 1999 U.S. Olympic Cup.
