Storm Finally Win at LoanMart Field

Rancho Cucamonga, CA - The Lake Elsinore Storm earned their first win at LoanMart Field in 2021, defeating the Quakes by a final of 12-7 on Wednesday night.
Rancho had won the first seven meetings between the two clubs at LoanMart Field, but Thursday was a different story, as the Storm raced out to a 12-1 lead, before holding on for the win.
Joshua Mears belted a grand slam and Quakes' starter Kendall Williams struggled through four innings in the loss.
Wladimir Chalo (4) and Luis Diaz (1) both homered, giving the Quakes some comeback hope.
Edwin Mateo had three hits and a pair of RBIs for the Quakes.
Storm reliever Jason Reynolds (3-1) earned the win by tossing two scoreless innings. Jose Garcia was credited with his second save, as he worked the final three innings.
Williams (3-3) allowed eight runs on ten hits, although just four of the eight were earned.
Rancho's (45-34) four-game winning streak is stopped with the loss, as they'll look to get back on track on Thursday, sending Carlos Duran (2-2) to the mound. Lake Elsinore will counter with Dwayne Matos (0-2) in game three of the series.
