OMAHA, NE - The Omaha Lancers were defeated by the Tri-City Storm by a final score of 5-2 on Thursday night at Ralston Arena.
The Storm got going quickly in the first frame gaining a 2-0 lead with Mark Estapa (5:22) followed by Matthew Knies (7:54). The Lancers would rally back when Alex Gaffney (15:31) snuck the puck in past Grant Riley. Nearing the final seconds of the opening frame, Ryan Lautenbach (19:45) sniped the puck past Riley from the Storm goal-line to tie the game 2-2.
In the third period, the Storm would turn the attack back on scoring three unanswered goals. Carter Mazur (11:56) would make the score 3-2, Borgesi (17:02) netted the fourth Tri-City goal, and an empty-net goal scored by Mark Estapa (19:43) would end the game for a final score of 5-2.
The Lancers are back on the Ice Friday to take on the Lincoln Stars at Ralston Arena. Puck drop is at 7:05 PM.
