PAPILLION, Neb. - The Omaha Storm Chasers drove their Werner Park winning streak to six games on Tuesday with their 3-2 victory over the Memphis Redbirds. Shortstop Tony Abreu drove in all three Omaha (45-27) runs on a pair of doubles.

Veteran left-hander Doug Davis (2-1) picked up his second win of the season after allowing a lone run in his 6.0 innings on the mound. Francisley Bueno pitched two scoreless innings in relief of Davis while Jeremy Jeffress allowed a run in the ninth but was still able to pick up his second save of 2012.

Although the Chasers were able to pull off the victory, the home team stranded big insurance runs in the third and seventh inning when the team failed to score any runs on bases loaded situations.

The Redbirds (25-47) scored the first run of the game on a second inning, opposite field solo shot by Zach Cox. The Storm Chasers knotted the game up at 1-1 in the bottom of the fourth when Clint Robinson doubled and then scored two batters later on one of Abreu's two RBI doubles.

Omaha tacked on two more runs in the bottom of the sixth as Abreu's double to left-center field scored Robinson, who had walked, and catcher Salvador Perez, who had reached on a fielder's choice.

Manager Mike Jirschele summoned Jeffress to pitch the ninth inning for the Chasers and allowed Memphis to come within a run on back-to-back two out doubles. Fortunately, Jeffress was able to slam the door shut on a Redbirds revival when Memphis' Pete Kozma to line out to right fielder David Lough to end the game.

The Storm Chasers and the Redbirds will do battle in game two of their four-game series on Wednesday at 12:05 p.m. Wednesday's contest will feature half price burgers and pre-game bingo for senior citizens thanks to our partners at Omaha Steaks. The game against Memphis can be heard locally on 1180 The Zone 2 - The Deuce and online at omahastormchasers.com.
